Pupils and students are confronted with a vision of History which is determined by the State. Some elements are emphasized, others are ignored or underreported: each of these choices has its significance and is by no means neutral. &#8220;Tell me how you teach History or rather, which History you teach, I will tell you who you are&#8221; might be an interesting start for tonight&#8217;s debate.
